Climb Your Mountain - Mitch Thrower

There is a road in San Diego that inspires me. On this road there are three fantastic climbs through Highland Valley on your way to Ramona. It’s a magnificent biking route. If you’re close – find it and ride it. Bring a camera. This road could be one of the best ways to ready yourself for the winds of Hawi.

Some thoughts for the day after my ride:
"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult." – Seneca
"I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." - Angus Grossart  "Do one thing every day that scares you.” – Anonymous
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined.” - Henry David Thoreau
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW! WHAT A RIDE." –Unknown
“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” Sir Edmund Hillary
“For every mountain there is a miracle.” Robert H. Schuller
“Never measure the height of a mountain, until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was” Dag Hammarskjold “
Great things are done when men and mountains meet.” William Blake

Thanks for the great cycling info.

I'm at the beginning of training for my first triathlon in August. And that means I'm also at the metaphorical bottom of the hill when confronting those really tough runs and rides.

Every piece of encouragement or story that tells me that I can push through (and it will be worth it) really powers me to the next level!
