What is part obstacle course, part video game, part bike-collision-Russian-roulette game?
Biking in Central park, NYC.
Biking in Central park, NYC.
It is here where you can find thousands of people working out on the same 6.1 mile bike loop, on which athletes circumnavigate a park filled with curious tourists, vending carts, horse-and-buggy rides, little running kids, and an occasional wild beast. Therr’ be road rash dragons a’lurkin.
Here is a short video clip from a cool down ride yesterday through the park with my great friend Steve Byers and our friends Allyson and Sherri. Imagine you are sitting at breakfast -- and just like the challenge puzzle on the back of the cereal box -- when you watch the short video below, see if you can find Steve, Allyson and Sherri.

And scroll down for a photo gallery from New York City. Here for a series of meetings and some hot and humid weather, broken now by the remnants of tropical storm "Barry." It is very refreshing for this California resident to see actual rain. I even felt my first mosquito bite in close to 5 years, when we stopped to fix a flat. I forgot how much I missed mosquitoes, and that zzzzzzzzzz hum you hear when they are near your ears.
We crossed the GW Bridge and made it to the Queen K of NYC - which is the 9W. There must have been 2,000 bikers on the road, and it reminded me of the Queen K in Hawaii, with such a heavy density of athletes. This road lead up to Nyack, NY a small town that boasts a famous triathlete and cyclist hot spot - the Runcible Spoon Bakery
A global toast of respect to the New York Triathletes, because you do have to be tough to be a triathlete in NYC. To navigate through the this massive and adventurous urban sprawl, past angry cars and cab drivers, and to find peace of mind in an area which is filled with chaos - that's talent.

is that blair who does the PR for Ironman?
I love the video of Central Park! I have to say I think dodging cabs on the street is easier then dodging tourists in Central Park. Glad you enjoyed the trip to Nyack, it's a nice ride.
